The Survivor, is the portrait of a lion in old age (as seen by the darkness of the skin on the nose). At this stage of his life, the lion must fight to maintain his position within the group and face the possibility of being excluded from it, having to survive alone.

This portrait is a song to life, it shows the determination to live despite the pains that life can involve.

His upward gaze indicates that he has understood that living always has meaning, despite possible doubts.
The red lion’s crest,  is a symbol of blood and at the same time passion for life.
